It is well known that in Los Angeles everyone drives. The city is huge and therefore a car is almost a necessity. Visitors to the city should consider car hire as an ideal way to see all the sights and attractions that LA has to offer. This was the first ever Disney Theme park and it is filled with all your favourite Disney characters from Mickey Mouse to Cinderella, your children have the chance of having their photograph taken with their animation idol. Universal Studios is a fun day out too. You can see how they produce some of the special effects used in film making, drive by the sets of such TV shows as Desperate Housewives, and see the filming locations of the original Psycho, War of the Worlds and Jaws.
Los Angeles beaches are popular with tourists and locals. Venice Beach, Long Beach and Santa Monica beach are often all very crowded with visitors. it is possible to enjoy sports such as volleyball and surfing, and they are great place to swim. If you prefer a quieter place for relaxing then Manhattan Beach, although still popular is never as crowded. Or of course you can take a drive up the coast to Malibu which is perhaps the most well-known of all the Los Angeles county beaches.
Sherman Oaks Castle Park is another great place for kids. There is a wide variety of activities, you can enjoy miniature gold and arcade games, you can even try your hand in the batting cages. Griffith Park, home to Griffith Observatory is a lovely park and a great place to enjoy a picnic. After a long morning of sightseeing or shopping, then throw a blanket on the grass, sit back and enjoy refreshments in this calm and peaceful environment. If you want a little more activity, then there is also a football field (known locally as soccer) and tennis courts.
If you take a trip up the canyon roads you can enjoy sights such as the Hollywood Sign, and you can see homes perched high up in the Hollywood Hills. Exploring Los Angeles, the parts that the excursions groups won’t go to, is the best way to create unique memories of your holiday, so hire a car, jump in and drive!
