Think of Orlando and instantly there are vivid images of Disney, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and the entire Cartoon Network gang of characters that made your childhood interesting well before the play station and video gaming consoles of today. There is no wonder that Orlando, with its theme parks and exciting Disneyworld arenas, is the ‘Family Entertainment Place of the World’. If you still aren’t convinced and need (more than one) reason to visit this beautiful city, read on
The Animal Kingdom Theme Park at Orlando which attempts to take you around the world, albeit in its miniature form, is a sure-fire attraction you would love. Whether it is the dusty desert savannah of Kilimanjaro, the rolling Maharajah Forest of Anandapur, or an Australian Coral Reef experience, you’re sure to find it in the Animal Kingdom, which features Lion Kings and Nemo park attractions too.
Car rental is highly recommended in Orlando. There is so much to see and do, and many of the attractions are spread far apart. Car hire is easily arranged and can mean not missing out on any of the fabulous sights. Universal Studios is yet another sightseeing spot in Orlando, known for its exquisite Hollywood landscapes, the Harry Potter Wizard School of Witchcraft, and the Men in Black Alien Attack studios. There are enormous sets erected all over where you can gain an insight into how stunt-packed Western films are shot in the USA. If you’re lucky, you might run into a few movie stars too.
Know more about flora and fauna at the Sea World, Aquatica Park, and Discovery Cove. Your child will learn more about animals and their natural habitats in these edutainment theme parks than they would by looking into their text books. These parks allow you to mingle with wildlife as you are taken along on a sojourn with dolphins, octopuses, fish, macaws, rafting rides along artificial rivers, and much more. If there ever was an artificial island retreat you’d fall in love with, it would be the Sea World and the other water parks in Orlando.
Though listed as a huge romantic destination in Orlando, Disney’s wilderness lodge and theme park has more family visitors (with kids) than any place in the city. There are miles of wilderness left to be explored and if you’re looking to teach your children the joys of trekking and backpacking, this is the place you’d want to start with.
Come to Orlando, and experience the vacation of a lifetime.
