Liverpool is a lively city that will surprise you with its pubs, monuments and museums or the great history of the Beatles. It holds a tourist offer that will keep you busy for weeks in this city full of life.
In the Albert Dock there is The Beatles Story Museum of the famous English group. One of its great advantages is that the audio guides are included in the entrance. With the entrance of the museum you can visit the exhibition White Feather at Pier Head. The tour of the museum shows you the history of the Beatles, from birth to the separation of the group and a brief summary of the solo careers of each one. The exhibition White Feather was an initiative of Cynthia and Julian Lennon, and it is a collection of memories including the gold records of the Beatles.
Another major attraction is football. We only need to name some of the football stadiums to evoke great moments for fans of this sport. Anfield Stadium is so full of history and magic that you can feel the excitement of a match only standing in front of it.
The stadium is located outside the city, surrounded by low houses and away from the centre, contrasting with the stadiums of major teams found in city centres. It is very easy to get there, there are several ways to go on match days, or simply to contemplate the grandeur of this historical place.
Merseyside Maritime Museum, an old dock reconverted into a cultural centre located in the Albert Dock, is another activity of Liverpool. It holds great part of the social and commercial history of the city and the port of Liverpool. Currently, there is an exhibition of Titanic and Liverpool which recounts a series of links between the city and the ship.
Within the Merseyside Maritime Museum there are two other museums. On the third floor there is the International Slavery Museum, and on the first floor, the Border Force National Museum, which account attempts by government forces to eliminate the traffic of illegal products and regulate dark and shameful business of slavery .
After so much cultural activities, it is time to relax the neurons and hang out at The Cavern, probably the most famous pub in the world. The legend of the Beatles started there and it maintains a very similar style and atmosphere of that age. The Original Cavern pub was demolished, however, the one you visit today was built next door and it is a replica of the original. The greatest bands of all time have played there, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Elton John and many others.
There are many things to do in Liverpool, just go and check. Remember to follow these simple steps before travelling to enjoy your stay to the most. Bon voyage!
